During the annual honors ceremony in the municipality of Overbetuwe, Mayor Patricia Hoytink-Roubos recognized ten residents of Elst. Among them was Henk Hanenburg, who was appointed Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. He received this distinction for his extensive and long-term dedication. Hanenburg was a board member of Traction Avant Netherlands, Gelderland branch, where he also served as a tool manager for thirty years. He also made a significant contribution as a board member of the Sunset March Foundation, which daily commemorates Allied soldiers with a crossing of the Waal via the De Oversteek bridge in Nijmegen. In addition, he personally supported elite athletes within the gliding sport. With his many years of volunteer work and involvement, Hanenburg has made meritorious contributions to society in multiple areas.In addition, Team31 member Henk Schoenmakers received in his place of residence the important distinction of Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
